No impaired driving charges laid following OPP Thanksgiving campaign

The OPP is thanking drivers for driving sober over Thanksgiving.

West Parry Sound and Almaguin Highlands OPP have released their weekend stats from Operation Impact. During the campaign police say no impaired drivers were caught at any of the RIDE checks set up around both regions. Police say speeding was an issue though with 32 drivers charged in Parry Sound and 47 in Almaguin.

Constable Kyle Ney with West Parry Sound OPP says both these numbers are down from last year’s campaign. Last year 48 drivers were caught speeding and police charged one person with impaired driving.
