Local police have removed a quarter million contraband cigarettes from the streets.  West Parry Sound OPP was conducting a R.I.D.E. check on Highway 69 in Archipelago Township on April 17th when a pick-up truck rolled up around just before midnight.  Officers noticed that the truck looked weighted down in the back and an investigation revealed that the back of the truck held 25 cases of contraband cigarettes.  Each case contained 50 cartons with 200 cigarettes in each.  A 51-year-old man, 42-year-old woman, and a 29-year-old woman, all from Manitoba, have been charged with possession of unmarked cigarettes, and possession of unmarked cigarettes for the purpose of selling.  All three will be in court here in Parry Sound on June 24th to answer to their charges.
