There is a blue-green algae bloom in Pickerel Lake.
That’s according to the North-Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit.
The health unit says to not use the water while the bloom is occurring. That includes, drinking, bathing, cooking or swimming. Toxins from the algae can also build up in fish and shellfish.
The health unit do not have a timeline on when the water will be safe for use again.
