Clement holding two town halls on proposed tax changes for small business

Story filed by James Bowler

You can learn more about the proposed changes to taxes on small businesses.

Along with his town hall taking place at the Sound Community Hub in Parry Sound, Parry Sound-Muskoka MP Tony Clement is holding a public meeting in Bracebridge in October. Clement says this will be an opportunity for local businesses to find out how this federal proposal will affect them.

Clement says this proposal to remove certain tax benefits for small businesses would put more financial strain on entrepreneurs in Parry Sound and Muskoka, who are already having issues with hydro costs and the possibility of having to increase staff wages. He says they’ll be using all the public input to petition the feds against moving forward with these changes.

The Town Hall in Parry Sound is on October 6 at 10 am at 82 Gibson Street. The Bracebridge meeting is on October 12 at the Quality Inn located at 300 Ecclestone Drive.
