Miller weighs in on Highway 559

Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP Norm Miller wants solutions to safety issues on Highway 559.

He approached Minister of Transportation Steven Del Duca on Tuesday to request a meeting on behalf of his constituents in Carling Township. Miller gave the minister a package of letters from residents concerned about the safety of the highway.

Miller says he’s heard from residents and tourists about the poor sight lines, narrow shoulders and bad road surface along Highway 559.

In response to these concerns, Miller has launched a petition to have Highway 559 redesigned with safer sightlines, bike lanes, and to be rebuilt with asphalt.

You can find copies of the petition at the Township of Carling offices, or on Miller constituency offices.
