Local girls getting geared up for Miss North Ontario Pageant

Some of northern Ontario’s brightest stars will be in Sudbury this coming weekend for the ninth annual Miss North Ontario Regional Canada pageant.  Chloe Naughton will be representing Parry Sound and Sarah Murney will be representing the District of Parry Sound.  Morning host at Espanola’s Moose radio station, Rosalind Russell is one of the judges of the event that gets started May 1st and runs until the 3rd.  Russell says the pageant celebrates and acknowledges scholastic, volunteer work and community service, public speaking and interview skills as part of the criteria to be selected as Miss North Ontario.  She goes on to say that the pageant also helps to promoting tourism in Northern Ontario as well as raising funds for the official charity, Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer.  Visit www.missnorthontario.com for a preview of this year’s contestants and vote for your favorite online for her to win the “People’s Choice Award”.
