Police investigating credit card fraud after traffic stop on Highway 400

A traffic stop on Highway 400 has resulted in credit card fraud charges.  West Parry Sound OPP stopped a vehicle on the highway at Highway 141 in Seguin around 4:30pm on Good Friday.  An investigation at the side of the road found that the driver could not produce a valid driver’s licence because of a current licence suspension.  The driver was arrested and a search of the vehicle was conducted where several fraudulent credit cards were found and as a result of the search, the passenger was also arrested.  The 28-year-old driver from Ottawa is charged with five counts of possessing credit card data as well as driving while under suspension, speeding, driving with no validation on the licence plate, fail to provide a driver’s licence, and fail to sign the ownership of the vehicle.  The 24-year-old passenger is also charged with five counts of possessing credit card data and fail to comply with a probation order.  Both men remain in custody while the investigation continues.
