Six projects supported by the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation are helping to boost the economy and create jobs in the Nipissing and Parry Sound areas. The NOHFC has recently allocated $4.6 million to projects in across both regions including $27,000 to the Town of Parry Sound to hire a consultant for a consumer and market study in support of the downtown revitalization plan. Meanwhile, an internet company in North Bay is getting over $880,000 to improve internet access in Callander, Nipissing, East Ferris and McKellar. Other projects in West Parry Sound include close to half a million dollars to Seguin Township for infrastructure upgrades at the local airport, including water, sewer and hydro services for three new businesses and another almost half a million to Carling Township to extend water and wastewater services at the Parry Sound Area Industrial Park for a new tenant.
