The Georgian Bay Toastmasters have successfully become a Charter Club. The Georgian Bay Women’s Network was created in 2005 and a group of 10 members gathered for a day of learning how to speak in front of a group by giving a 5 minute speech about themselves. From there, a plan to start something in Parry Sound to help women be strong, powerful, and ready to speak when needed led them to the popular Toastmasters Club. The first Georgian Bay Toastmasters meeting was held in October and on Tuesday, they celebrated their Charter Club. The group meets at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month and is currently looking for more Men and Women members.
