MNR will watch closely as rain could cause serious flooding

Flooding could become a problem for some areas of Parry Sound and Muskoka this week.  Environment Canada is predicting 10-20 millimeters of rain over a 24-hour periods starting tonight with the risk of isolated thunderstorms.  Areas that get thunderstorms could see even more rain, up to 25 millimeters.  Meteorologists are still tracking the low pressure system to find out exactly what areas will be hit.  After the system leaves the area, Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be sunny.  The Ministry of Natural Resources have been assessing the flooding across the district over the Easter weekend and will give an update on the flood warning later today.
