It’s Easter Long Weekend and the OPP wants you to buckle up. Central Region Media Relations Coordinator Sergeant Peter Leon says we’re going to see more people on our roads coming up for the weekend.
Leon says nine people have died so far because of improper seatbelt use. About 10,000 children are injured or killed on roads across Canada. Leon says drivers are responsible for making sure passengers under 16 are wearing seatbelts and proper car seats are being use for the younger kids.
The OPP wants you to have a plan this long weekend and make sure you’re being responsible.
Officers will be out in full force looking for distracted, aggressive and impaired drivers.
