Rainfall warning also in effect for Parry Sound and Muskoka

Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for our area, with several disturbances expected to move through southern Ontario over the next few days bringing significant rainfall. Indications at this time suggest that a swath from the Bruce Peninsula across Georgian Bay to Parry Sound and Huntsville could see amounts of 40 to 60 mm by Monday morning. The rain will continue through Monday with total rainfall amounts possibly reaching 50 to 75 mm by Tuesday morning. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible and the MNR has issued a flood warning for Parry Sound and Muskoka. Avoid driving through water on roads as even shallow fast moving water across a road can sweep a vehicle or a person away. You are also advised to keep children and pets away from creeks and river banks.
