Northern Ontario School of Medicine wins rural residency award again

When the Northern Ontario School of Medicine graduates its next field of students this spring, 56 percent of them will head to rural areas for their residency programs.  Last year the number was 64 percent.  Many of those graduates find themselves completing their residency here at the West Parry Sound Health Centre.  The high number of students taking up residency in rural areas has resulted in the school winning an award in this area for the fifth year in a row.
