Removed DBA chair disagrees with town’s comments on her removal

Former chair of the Downtown Business Association disagrees with the Town’s comments on why she was removed.  The Town of Parry Sound voted in favour of removing Lis McWalter from the DBA on March 25th citing the alteration of minutes as the reason.  McWalter disputes the allegations and says her removal was in a maligned and malicious manner.  Mayor Jamie McGarvey says Town CAO, Rob Mens, and Clerk, Jackie Boggs, met with the DBA board and McWalter, but McWalter says she has yet to be given the opportunity to defend the allegations in front of council.  McWalter has put over 1600 volunteer hours into the downtown and says she still has a passion for its success and would consider applying to the board again under a different council.
