A bike lane and sidewalk have been approved for Forest Street. At last night’s meeting, council discussed a resolution to have a sidewalk installed in about the same spot it is now on the west side of the street and a bike lane on the east side when the road gets reconstructed this year. Some residents have been against the bike lane because they feel it would impede on their property but Councillor Dan McCauley mentioned that not much will change.

The bike path will be a one-point-two meter wide paved shoulder that will be lined and signed appropriately. Reconstruction of Forest Street is expected to get started this Spring and hoped to be mostly completed by the end of this year.
