Local woman helps police officer shot in Brampton courthouse

A local woman helped save a police officer shot in a Brampton courthouse.  On Friday, an officer was shot and taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.  The Toronto Sun reports that a mystery woman, initially thought to be a nurse, was in fact Dunchruch resident Linda Hunt who spends her winters in the Brampton area.  Linda was the first to tend to the officer after he was shot and used her first aid training she received 28 years ago until EMS arrived.  She told the paper she stick her hand on the wound and applied pressure until the paramedics showed up.  The officer was moved from intensive care on Sunday as is recovering in hospital while the gunman was shot and killed by police.
