MPP Norm Miller wants long term solution for hydro costs

Norm Miller is pushing the Wynne government to find a way to lower hydro costs. The Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP says the government isn’t addressing the root of the issue, and although a 25 per cut is on the way, it’s just going to mean paying more down the line. Miller says the high bills are affecting homeowners, businesses, and municipalities. Burk’s Falls is looking at cutting down ice time in the local arena next winter to save money. Miller says the town is facing quickly rising Hydro costs, and cutting back on the arena will save the most money. He says it’s a small population, and the arena is crucial to the community.

Miller says there are already a lack of jobs in the area over the winter, and if businesses are forced to shut down it could be devastating to the local economy.
