MNRF issue flood warning in Parry-Sound Muskoka

More rain is on the way for Parry Sound-Muskoka, which means rising water levels in Parry Sound.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is advising residents near the Muskoka River watershed that a flood warning is in effect.

A flood watch has been issued for the rest of Parry Sound District.

The ministry says to expect anywhere between 40 and 80 millimetres of rain is expected in the next couple of days. In a statement Environment Canada said that the soil already has very little ability to absorb more rain. The MNRF says low-lying roads and properties by the Big East River in Huntsville are expected to be impacted. They also say to be cautious when using forest access roads.

Updates will be released as conditions change.
