Town renting POA courtroom to help Provincial Court with overbooking

The Town of Parry Sound will benefit from overbooked court cases.  Provincial Court has requested the use of the Town’s POA Courtroom for 12 days between April and June as their court facilities are overbooked.  Staff is charging them $633 per day, which is the same as what is charged to the POA courts, that will result in over $7,000 in found revenue for the town.  The resolution approved last night will allow for the Director of Finance to rent the room for this purpose outside of council meeting times at the same rate which will increase at the cost of living each year.
