Pedestrian hit at busy intersection in Parry Sound

A man has been charged after hitting a pedestrian while driving.  West Parry Sound OPP were called to the intersection of James Street and Seguin Street around 10:00am last Monday after a vehicle came into contact with a pedestrian.  Police say the vehicle was travelling south on James and making a left turn onto Seguin where a pedestrian was walking within the crosswalk and the vehicle hit the pedestrian causing minor injuries.  The 68-year-old driver from Parry Sound was charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian.  Police remind motorists to pay extra attention to their surroundings while driving in highly populated areas and to observe and obey the traffic signals and use safe driving skills to drive through these intersections.
