Speed reductions coming to Parry Sound roads

Streets in Parry Sound are going to get slower.
In an effort to make downtown Parry Sound safer, the speed limits near schools and community safety zones will be lowered to 40 km/h.
Town council approved the proposal to amend their bylaw to lower the speed limits in council last night.
Councillor Marshall wanted to assure concerned citizens that this move was not a way to justify ticketing more drivers, but an attempt to make the downtown area safer for everyone.
The new speed limits will be put in effect by the end of the summer.
