Police remind drivers with only a G1 licence that there are rules that must be followed. Around 2:00am Wednesday morning, West Parry Sound OPP pulled over a vehicle for speeding on Highway 69 in Shawanaga Township. The driver was the only one in the car and had only a G1 licence. Under the Highway Traffic Act, G1 drivers must have a fully licenced person in the vehicle while driving and are not allowed to be driving between the hours of midnight and 5:00am. The 46-year-old was given tickets for speeding, driving without a qualified driver, and driving at an unlawful hour.
