Town secures government funding to reconstruct two more streets

The Town of Parry Sound will be reconstructing Dufferin and Wakefield Streets for just 10 percent of the total cost.  Public Works Director Peter Brown told council that the Town received government funding to the tune of $1.3 million and explained what will be included in the project.

Brown says that the design is 90 percent complete and expects the project to get started in June with most of the work being done this year.  CAO Rob Men’s says the Town is one of just 30 municipalities in the province to get funding from this program and Mayor Jamie McGarvey explains how it materialized.

The funding is subject to having the work done by the end of 2015 which Brown says is lots of time.
