Councillor shows interest in fleet tracking system

Town of Parry Sound Public Works Director is in favour of a fleet tracking system.  Councillor Keith Saulnier was at a conference recently where he learned of systems that are available to track town-owned equipment to better understand how efficient the town is running.  Public Works Director Peter Brown he has extensive knowledge of tracking systems as he introduced one in Huntsville in the mid-2000s and says a lot of information comes out of them.

Brown says it helps with responding to resident’s calls about roads that may not have been plowed as they can give a timeframe for when the road might get cleared.  No direction was given at last night’s meeting for staff to look into implementing a fleet tracking system, but councillors seemed interested in the idea.
