Artists at Work event supports Treetops Community Forest

Twelve local artists have banded together for an exhibition called “Artists At Work” showcasing Georgian Bay landscapes. The exhibit has been set up in the old “Mad Hatter” location at 35 Seguin Street in downtown Parry Sound. The group of artists include Bert Weir from Loon Studios in McKellar who recently produced a series of paintings about life in nature that have been published as a children’s book.

Pierre AJ Sabourin, is a professional landscape painter who makes his home in Killarney and is artist-in-residence at Killarney Provincial Park.

In support of the Treetops Community Forest, artist and printmaker, Alan Stein, has designed a detailed print called “Treetops” of the smooth rock and towering pine of the property. His display at the exhibition includes the original sketch and several proofs that show the development of the limited edition print that is for sale.

All proceeds from the Stein’s prints and a portion of the other art sold will go directly to support the Treetops Community Forest project. “Artists at Work” is open  through December 22nd with the “Public Opening”scheduled for Friday December 9th from 5-8pm.
