Two brothers hoping to add volunteer firefighter vehicles to move over law

Two brothers are hoping to bring awareness and change when it comes to how volunteer firefighter vehicles are regarded in Northern Ontario.
Timothy and Nicholas Brazeau started a petition on change.org to have volunteer vehicles with green lights recognized as emergency vehicles.
Tim Brazeau says he wants to see the current move over law, which requires drivers to allow emergency vehicles to pass, to include these volunteer firefighter vehicles.
Brazeau says he’d like to see the new Move Over Slow Down law to include these Volunteer Firefighter vehicles as well.
That recent Ontario law requires drivers to slow down and, if possible, move one lane over when passing an emergency vehicle with its lights activated.
The petition website has already received just shy of the necessary 1,500 votes and Brazeau says when they reach their goal they’ll be approaching northern officials like MP Tony Clement and MPP Norm Miller.
You can find more information on this petition on the change.org website.
