Parry Sound Mayor sees nothing but economic benefits in opening a casino

A casino in Parry Sound would bring more jobs to the region.
This from Parry Sound Mayor Jamie McGarvey, who is supporting the position of Shawanga Chief Wayne Pamajewon to open a casino in the district.
McGarvey says if a casino were built, it would begin to attract other types of new business.
The Mayor is well aware of the hurdle faced by Pamajewon in the form of the OLG, but hopes they can get past it.
He says he’s already been approached by a local businessman who has expressed interest in opening new businesses that would benefit from a casino location.
Pamajewon has said he is looking to use the Highway 400 expansion negotiations on reserve land to get a casino built.
