Citizen’s arrest leads to impaired driving charges

A citizen’s arrest had led to impaired driving charges.
West Parry Sound OPP got a call from local resident last night around 8:30 saying he stopped an impaired driver in McDougall Township.
Police say the man was driving when he say a pickup truck drive through a stop sign onto Nobel Road, then ran into a snowbank before continuing on.
The man followed the truck to the intersection at Parry Sound Drive where he was able to stop the driver until police arrived.
A 53-year-old woman from McDougall is charged with impaired driving, drive over 80, failure to stop at a stop sign, and drive while under suspension and will face those charges in a Parry Sound court on March 20th.
Officers remind everyone that if you see an impaired driver, dial 9-1-1 immediately to report the incident.
