A local construction company will be building the new elementary school here in Parry Sound. The Near North District School Board has announced that W.S. Morgan Construction Ltd. was awarded the tender for the construction of the new Parry Sound public elementary school. Site preparation is under way and actual building construction is scheduled to start in early spring 2014. Parry Sound School Board Trustee Jim Beatty says teachers, students and parents are pleased with the board’s continued progress in making the new school in Parry Sound a reality. Board Chair David Thompson believes this re-investment in local education will provide another strong economic development tool for the Town of Parry Sound.
