Buying a poppy will put money towards helping a veteran in need. Officials with the Royal Canadian Legion say last year over $17 million from the 2014 Poppy Campaign was spend aiding veterans across Canada. Poppy money is used to fund a variety of programs such as “Leave the Streets Behind”, that helps homeless veterans get back on their feet and the 2017 Invictus Games in Toronto. You can pick up your Poppy at many retailers in our area, plus many homeowners will see a request for donations in the mail.
