OPP warning of rushing water with rain and warmer temperatures

Police are warning of the dangers that may come with warmer temperatures and rain.  The OPP says forecast rainfall and warm temperatures can result in increased stream flows.  Local streams and waterways will become dangerous, especially around culverts and bridges.  Officers remind parents to keep children away from all bodies of water as research shows that just six inches of fast moving water can knock over an adult and two feet of rushing water can carry away a vehicle.  For more safety tips about fast moving water, visit the Environment Canada Website: http://weather.gc.ca/canada_e.html
