Police say 97 speeding tickets were handed out over the long weekend in Almaguin Highlands. During the Civic Day long weekend, police say 127 tickets were handed out. With the majority of the tickets speeding offenses, others included distracted driving and failure to move over for emergency vehicles. Almaguin Highlands OPP was happy to report nobody was charged with impaired driving out of the 435 vehicles checked during its R.I.D.E. program.
