Parry Sound-Muskoka MP Tony Clement says the $53 Billion New Building Canada Plan will help create jobs and boost the local economy. More than two-thirds of the new funding is dedicated exclusively to municipalities, with rural regions and small towns. The plan is expected to launch in Spring 2014 and includes more than $32 billion specifically available for municipalities through the Gas Tax Fund, and the incremental Goods and Services Tax Rebate.
