Lieutenant Governor excited to tell the story of Parry Sound

The Lieutenant Governor of Ontario enjoyed her visit to Parry Sound.  On Friday, the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell visited the Town of Parry Sound where she saw the Francis Pegahmagabow statue, toured Art in the Park, met with town council, area First Nation representatives, and community members, and took in a Festival of the Sound show.  Dowdeswell says one thing that has become clear in the first part of her mandate is that communities in Ontario don’t share enough of their stories.

This was her first time stopping to visit Parry Sound.

Town of Parry Sound Mayor Jamie McGarvey invited Dowdeswell to town and was her tour guide for the day.  McGarvey says he’s pleased she accepted the invitation and was able to hear about some of the things our area is working on.

Dowdeswell says she’s made it her job to share each community’s story with the rest of the province and can’t wait to tell the story of Parry Sound.
