A new fundraiser by the Rotary Club has raised over $8,000 for local organizations. This year, the club held a Beer for a Year raffle where the winner received gift certificates for $2,200 between the LCBO and the Beer Store. The proceeds were split up between five organizations and initiatives; the Parry Sound Hockey Club, Salvation Army, Rose Point Trail, Treetops Community Forest, and the Town of Parry Sound for maintenance and upgrades to the Rotary Algonquin Fitness Trail. The winner was drawn at the Dragon Boat Festival last month.
