Parry Sound High School students are earning credits learning about drugs. Some students are at the West Parry Sound Canadore College campus today taking a dual credit in substance abuse that will count toward their grade 12 diploma as well as a college course. The course covers the history of substance abuse and the cultural influences that impact the use and abuse. It also covers the personal and societal attitudes about drugs, the overview of drug abuse including alcohol and nicotine, myths and theories surrounding substance abuse, and current legislation and links to crime.
