Parry Sound and Muskoka continue to feel the heat and humidity

The heat warning for Parry Sound and Muskoka continues.  A hot and humid air mass will continue to affect the regions today with maximum temperatures near 30 degrees and maximum humidex values approaching 40 again today.  Some places along the shores of Georgian Bay and the Great Lakes will see temperatures a few degrees lower and showers or thunderstorms could bring relief at times to some areas.  A cooler air mass is expected to arrive tomorrow.

Frequently visit neighbours, friends and older family members, especially those who are chronically ill, to make sure that they are cool and hydrated.  Never leave people or pets in your care inside a parked vehicle or in direct sunlight.

The Parry Sound YMCA is free to use as a cooling station during the heat warning with government-issued photo ID.
