One of the top 100 festivals in Ontario is set to begin in Parry Sound

The 37th annual Festival of the Sound in Parry Sound promises to one of the biggest events ever.  The event that was named one of the top 100 festivals in Ontario last year is back once again at the Stockey Centre beginning with the first concert on Friday.  James Campbell says this is one of the biggest shows he’s been involved with in Parry Sound in his 32 years as Executive Director.

There are already two shows that are complete sold out with a number of others that are close to selling out.

Campbell says they are gracious to have been named to the top 100 festivals in Ontario last year and thanks Parry Sound for making that happen.

He says from his experience, this festival is known as one of the top four or five classical music festivals in the country and even people in Europe know Parry Sound through the festival.

Campbell says this year there will be a new exciting part of the festival involving a number of pianos on one stage.

He says not only that, but there will also be pianists from throughout the week that will join on stage for a total of 12 pianists playing on the six pianos.
