Chamber hosts AGM

The Parry Sound and Area Chamber of Commerce lost more members than they gained in 2013.  At the Annaual General Meeting yesterday, President Andrew Ryland noted in his year in review speech that 32 new members joined the Chamber while 53 were lost.  Ryland notes that it was the highest recorded loss in the past eight year and the main reason for members leaving was relocation or closure.  The crowning achievement for the Chamber in 2013 was being one of just 23 Chambers across Ontario to gain recognition as an Accredited Chamber.  This year is being called the Year of Acceleration for the Chamber and the focus for 2014 will be to reconnect with members on personal visits, provide additional benefits to members, continue with added seminars and workshops, and work closely to ensure a strong tourism market.
