Police have charged two youth in connection to arson and thefts in East Parry Sound. Almaguin Highlands OPP, the South River Machar Fire Department, the Sundridge/Strong Fire Department and the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office responded to a structure fire on Machar Strong Boundary Road early in the morning last Monday. Further investigation found that an ATV was stolen from that home and a nearby residence. On Wednesday, police arrested one youth in connection to the arson and on Thursday they arrested a second youth. Both are charged with arson, two counts of theft of a motor vehicle, two counts of break and enter, and possession of property obtained by crime. They were held in custody until a bail hearing on Friday and will face their charges at a later date.
