A close call on the ice had emergency services called to Nottawasaga Bay.
Southern Georgian Bay OPP was called to the water’s edge in the Woodland Beach area of Tiny Township around 5:30pm Saturday along with paramedics and fire after a resident reported several people were in trouble out on the ice.
A man and a woman eventually came to shore once they heard the vehicle sirens and emergency responders found that there was no danger but a miscommunication by the woman who called police.
Emergency services encourage ice surface users to carry cell phones so they can communicate with each other and with emergency services if needed.
