A fire ban has been called for the Township of the Archipelago. CAO Stephen Kaegi has declared a total fire ban for the entire municipality starting today and in effect until further notice. The rest of the West Parry Sound district remains under a High Fire Danger Rating meaning burn permits are suspended, but camp fires are allowed for cooking, warmth, and recreation.
