A driver speeding through West Parry Sound is facing a charge of racing. On Sunday, West Parry Sound OPP was conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 69 in the Township of the Archipelago when a south bound vehicle sped past the marked cruiser. Officers pulled over the vehicle and the 55-year-old Toronto driver was arrested and charged with racing. He’ll face his charge in a Parry Sound court next month. His licence was suspended for seven days and his vehicle impounded for a week. Every one convicted of racing could face a fine between $2,000 and $10,000 or up to six months in jail, or both, in addition to their driver’s licence being suspended.
