Town is moving ahead on two strategic priorities.

Two strategic projects identified by council are moving forward in Parry Sound.  Council passed a direction at Tuesday night’s meeting for a feasibility study to be conducted to extend Parry Sound Road to Oastler Park Drive and an Official Plan amendment to be drafted to allow an industrial park to be built on town-owned lands on Parry Sound Road.  Both projects were identified by council as priorities in the special meeting of council held last month. Councillor Keith Saulnier says an Official Plan amendment will take a long time and this step to start staff to draft an amendment will get the ball rolling. Director of Public Works Peter Brown told council that talks have been had with Seguin on the Parry Sound Road extension, but sees this project more as creating a boundary road.  Brown expects council could see the results of a feasibility study by October of this year.
