The fire at the Killarney Mountain Lodge is now under criminal investigation. Thursday morning just before 4:00am, Noelville OPP and Killarney Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire. The fire completely consumed one of the new buildings that was still under construction and the damage is estimated at between $3 and $4 million. No injuries were reported. The Lodge is currently undergoing an 18-million dollar renovation and expansion, but management of the resort says they are still open for business, and are still taking bookings. Information from the Ontario Fire Marshall Investigator has led police to start a criminal investigation and anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity or has any information about this fire is asked to contact the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
