Staff will bring a report back to council on how to operate the Big Sound Marina in-house.
At last night’s council meeting, Director of Development and Leisure Services Lynn Middaugh outlined how staff has already been in contact with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and the former operators, the Chamber of Commerce.
Middaugh told council that she has been receiving calls daily for boat slips and feels like not operating the facility is not an option.
A report is expected to come back to council at their next meeting and will include a staff schedule and a plan to sell seasonal and transient slips for the upcoming season.
