This past weekend in Shamrock hockey action

Here is this week’s results in Parry Sound Shamrocks hockey.

On Friday night, the Rotary Atoms and Ritchie Bantams were in Minden to take on the Highland Storm in OMHA playdown action.  The Atoms were up first for game two of their series.  They put up a good fight but would eventually fall 6-1.  Next up were the Ritchie Bantams who needed a win to extend their series.  After a solid first period, the Storm were able to score a couple of quick goals and would go on to win 6-1.

Meanwhile, back at the BOCC the Brokerlink Midgets were poised to eliminate Elmvale from the playdowns up two games to none.  The Parry Sound team wouldn’t disappoint the home crowd as they won 4-3 to move on to the next round.

On Saturday, the Optimist Novices needed a win to extend their playdown series against South Muskoka but would fall 11-1 to the Bears.  Also on Saturday, the Rotary Atoms and Fowler Peewees were in Minden to play the Highland Storm.  The Rotary Atoms needed a win to extend the series but would fall 9-2.  The Peewee were playing game three and were tied at 1 going in to the third period, but the home team would score to win the game 2-1.

The Fowler Peewees had a chance to keep their playdown hopes alive with game four on Sunday at home.  The game was tied at 3 after regulation and in overtime, the Highland Storm would score to win the game and the series.

The Brokerlink Midgets are the last Parry Sound team in the OMHA Playdowns and they begin their next series against Penetang this weekend.
