The Parry Sound and Humphrey figure skating clubs competed at the Skate Canada Near North Interclub Competition held in Burk’s Falls on Saturday. Skaters from both clubs did very well bringing home lots of hardware. Here’s a list of winners:
In the Pre Preliminary event Megan Oldham won the Gold medal in freeskate and 2 Bronze medals in spins and elements, Kacie Alves won 2 Gold medals in Pre preliminary spins and elements and the Silver medal in freeskate, Alex McCrodden won 2 Silver medals in preliminary freeskate & elements and a Bronze in spins; Clair Logan won 2 gold medals in Preliminary Freeskate & Elements, Marissa Ebbert and Taylor Marshall took 5th and 6th spot in pre preliminary freeskate, spins & elements; Alisha Edington earned the gold medal in Pre preliminary elements, 4th in spins, 5th in freeskate, Branden Ebbert won a Silver medal in Jr Bronze mens freeskate, 6th in spins, 7th in elements, In the junior bronze event Lauren Orr took the bronze medal in freeskate and silver in spins.
At the Introductory level Holly Campbell was Silver in freeskate spins and elements, Alana Cabral was Bronze in freeskate, Olivia Felton was Gold in freeskate, and Silver in spins & elements, Tyanna Jones earned Silver & Bronze levels in freeskate, spins & elements, Hailey Duggan earned Silver in Freeskate, spins & elements, Quinlan Wilson-McPhee earned Bronze & Silver in Freeskate, spins & elements and Keilan Emmans achieved Silver in freeskate, spins & elements.
In the team events; the Introductory team of Keilan Emmans, Olivia Felton, Tyanna Jones and Hailey Duggan won the Silver medal, the Pre preliminary team of Branden Ebbert, Holly Campbell and Alisha Edington took 4th place, and the pre preliminary team of Kacie Alves, Megan Oldham, Taylor Marshall and Marissa Ebbert won the Silver medal.
