It’s been a month of snow and cold weather in Parry Sound.
Our region has been pounded with snow in the month of January causing school buses to be cancelled eight times and highway shut down twice.
Warning Preparedness Meterologist Geoff Coulson with Environment Canada says information sites from the Parry Sound area showed higher than normal snow fall and that was only up until last Friday.

Coulson says there is more active weather coming in February and March including a storm system they are tracking for this weekend.
He says despite temperatures warming up this weekend, the cold weather isn’t over.

Coulson says it’s been a quite a few year’s since our region has seen a total winter like this with the amount of snow and continued cold temperatures.
