An Orillia boy who was originally reported abducted was actually being carried into a vehicle by a grandparent. On Sunday night, Orillia OPP released an Amber Alert for a young boy between the ages of eight and 13-years-old. The alert lasted for an hour before police reported the boy was found safe and sound. According to Orillia OPP, the parents of the boy contacted police when they saw the Amber Alert released over various media networks. Even though this didn’t turn out to be an emergency, police are thanking the public for their quick responses to this incident. Officials say there was a huge volume of calls once the Amber Alert system was activated.
